The chase you already know
Someone in your office emails a sub for an updated COI. Then the licence. Then the safety program. A certificate lapses mid-job and nobody notices until the owner or the insurer asks. The big compliance platforms solve this, but they're built and priced for companies much larger than yours.
What we're building
- One place for every sub's certificate of insurance, licences and safety documents
- Expiry dates tracked, with a heads-up before anything lapses
- A clear list of what's missing, per sub and per job
- Requests sent to the sub for you, so your office stops writing the same email
Crane subs, handled properly
A crane sub carries the heaviest file: the annual inspection and full report, the operator's certification for that crane type, the operator evaluation, rigger and signal person qualifications, the load chart for that serial number, the lift plan and the COI. When the crane or the operator changes, much of it has to be re-sent. In the 20 published GC, owner, DOT, Army Corps and insurer requirements we read, 14 asked for the annual certificate and report and 11 for the operator's certification. Crane companies on CraneFile send you all of it as one link that stays current. See our paperwork guides for what to ask for.
What we ask in return
Tell us how you track sub paperwork today and what you wish it did. Founding GCs get free early access and a say in what gets built first.
Questions
Is this live?
Not yet. We're building it with a small group of general contractors and crane companies. Early access is free and needs no card.
Who is it for?
General contractors with roughly 10 to 100 people who hire subs and have to collect and track their insurance certificates and documents, without an enterprise compliance portal.
Do my subs have to log in to something?
That's the part we want to avoid. Crane companies on CraneFile send you one link that stays current. For other subs, we're working out the lightest way to collect their certificates, and we'd like your input.
Do you verify a sub is compliant?
No. We collect, organise and flag what's missing or expired so you can see it at a glance. Deciding what is acceptable stays with you, your insurer and your contract.
What does it cost?
Nothing during early access. When it's live it will be priced for small GCs, not enterprise budgets, and founding GCs get a discount for helping shape it.
